Sgraffito and inlay workshop

Date & Time: Feb 8th, 2026 · 1–3 pm

In this two-hour workshop, we will explore two surface decoration techniques used for mark-making with clay. You’ll create your own imagery by carving on a prepared clay slab using coloured slip.

To ensure the clay is at the ideal stiffness for carving, we prepare the slabs in advance. Each participant will receive two slabs—you may use one for testing and one for your final piece, or use both and choose to fire both if you wish. Due to the preparation required, registration will close two days before the workshop date.

  • Glazing & Firing: The price includes glazing and firing for one piece (we make our own glazes at the studio!). Additional pieces can be fired for 100 kr per piece.

  • Processing Time: Please allow about one month for your pieces to be completed. You will receive an email when they are ready for pickup.

  • Ceramics Disclaimer: Ceramics is an organic process, and the firing stage can bring surprises—such as small cracks or unexpected colours. Please come with an open mind toward these natural outcomes.

  • Age Policy: All ages are welcome. However, children under 13 must be accompanied by a parent.
